Governance Professionals, We Want to Hear From YOU
WATSON has partnered with Governance Professionals of Canada (GPC) and Compensation Governance Partners in conducting the 2022 Corporate Governance Best Practices Survey. The results will provide valuable insight into the current governance landscape in Canada, and analysis of trends, practices, and the issues facing those in corporate governance today – data that can help push your board to perform at the top of its game.
And your participation could result in a nomination for GPC’s Excellence in Governance Awards. The responses will help GPC create a short-list of companies for each of the award categories and let us all see which organizations are leading the pack. Is yours
one of them?
There's also a prize for 5 lucky survey respondents, so make sure to provide your input before the April 18 deadline! What are you noticing? What are your concerns? We want to know it all.
Click the link below to start the survey now. It will only take a few minutes of your time.
The new Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act (the Act) came into force in late October 2021, reflecting an important move to modernize the corporate legislation for not-for-profits in Ontario. WATSON held a webinar in
November 2021 highlighting governance-related provisions and sharing how organizations can approach this transition with a lens to evolving their approach to governance.
Did you miss it? We understand – things come up. And that’s why we’re pleased to offer this session again.
Organizations incorporated under Ontario provincial legislation have three years to come into compliance (sigh of relief), but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be thinking about the transition now. With such diversity in the sector, the new legislation will have varying impacts, and this can be an opportune time to take the needed to make long needed governance
changes.
Grab your lunch (or coffee) and join WATSON’s Natasha Himer as she sheds some light on this new legislation.
In this session, you will:
Learn about key provisions in the new Act
Think about the Act from a governance
perspective and consider key governance-related provisions
Explore what your board should be thinking about now – and what to wait on – as your organization prepares for this transition
Date: Thursday May 5, 2022
Time: 12:00 – 12:30pmEST / 9:00 – 9:30am PST
